Norton Rose Fulbright supports Quebec start-ups incubated by 2 Degrés

Kanada Press release April 2021

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright is partnering with cleantech business incubator 2 Degrés to encourage social responsibility and sustainable development and help drive projects that have a significant impact on our society.

With this important partnership, incubated companies will receive customized advice, training and coaching on matters relating to intellectual property, corporate law and employment and labour law related to the reality of their cleantech businesses. These matters are significant challenges for pre-startup projects and the development phase of new innovative technologies. Having access to Norton Rose Fulbright’s experts and specialized resources will therefore accelerate the development of the business structure of incubated companies and facilitate developing and implementing their business and intellectual property strategies.

Norton Rose Fulbright is recognized as a leader in business law and offers its start-up clients a full range of advisory services on business issues they face daily and their long-term strategic initiatives, including creating new businesses, financing, acquisitions, governance, risk management, associations, outsourcing and complex commercial transactions.

The firm was also the first to offer patent services in Quebec City. Since then, it has cultivated a flourishing practice, primarily focused on photonic optics, quantum, and electronics- and physics-related materials, while playing an intimate role in advancing the democratization of the intellectual property in local companies.

Olga Farman, managing partner of Norton Rose Fulbright’s Quebec City office, said:

“I am very proud that Norton Rose Fulbright is supporting environmental and cleantech start-ups in Quebec by making its network and experience available to companies incubated by 2 Degrés.”

Through this partnership, incubated companies can count on counsel and assistance from Jean-François Drolet, Pierre Nicol, Xavier Hamel, Alexandre Daoust, Kelley Rourke, Megda Belkacemi and Reno Lessard.
